Subject: the radio antenna issue

Good Afternoon

I am a land owner and near future home owner/builder in the Virginia City Highlands. My position on the amateur radio antenna issue is that I don't think a variance should be issued for higher antennas.  An amateur radio operator can have just as much satisfaction with 45' antennas as is the code as I understand it. I hope you will consider that in your decision. It is his hobby afterall.  Once ham radio operators were very useful during emergencies when normal radio communications went out. Today with satelites that is not the case as they are immune to ground emergencies.   Thanks for your time.
