To All Storey County Planning Commissioners:

Please be advised that we are Virginia City Highlands residents and are stating our opposition to the currently standing antenna towers and the proposed new antenna towers by resident Tom Taormina. We are concerned about our property values being affected by these eyesores. They ruin the view from many locations in the highlands. We do not see these towers to be a necessity in the event of an emergency in the highlands, nor should a national emergency occur. We do not intend on counting on a ham radio operator to help us in the event of an emergency. The height of these towers and the proposed towers (195ft) may be a hindrance to an air assault on a fire in the highlands.  Panamint Rd (proposed antenna's location) and Highland Rd (cross street) as well as Geiger Grade are major roads in the highlands and are therefore fire breaks. Also, The proposed new towers, being 195ft, will need longer "guy" wires to stabilize them.  Does Mr. Taormina have sufficient adjacent property needed to attach these wires to the ground?  We don't believe so.  He has already been caught digging holes and tying these wires on his neighbors property.

We want to be on record stating our strong opposition to these antenna's. They do not belong in the VC Highlands. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,

Pete and Lyndi Renaud
