Subject: 2610 Cartwright Road - 3/3/11 Meeting
Dear Sir/Madam:
I am a Virginia City Highlands' resident who lives at 1890 Empire
Road. I am writing regarding my concerns pertaining to the multiple
antenna towers located on the property at 2610 Cartwright Road. These
towers present an eyesore to an otherwise pristine and beautiful rural
neighborhood. We are fortunate to live in such a unique and
wonderful area like the Highlands - we think of it as our own little slice
of heaven. We are close enough to travel to Reno for work, but we are
able to live in the country away from the distractions of the city.
Unfortunately, one person has taken it upon himself to introduce multiple
giant antennas into our neighborhood solely for his own enjoyment and
use. I am fortunate to not live near the property at 2610 Cartwright Road,
but my heart goes out to those property owners who have to look at these towers
every time they look out their window or go out on their balcony to enjoy the
view. It is sad enough for me to have to see them twice a day when I
leave and enter the Highlands. Imagine if your next door neighbor
took it upon himself to erect giant towers around his property and now your
property is not only diminished in value (try selling your property when the
view is full of giant antennas) but the natural beauty is tarnished as
well. There are plenty of areas in Nevada where a person can
purchase property and set up as many antennas as they choose without
disturbing their neighbors or violating local regulations. Virginia City
Highlands is not one of these areas. It is not appropriate for the
property owner to have set up these antennas in the first place and
they should have to (and should want to) remove the antennas out of
consideration and respect for their neighbors and the
community. If one person is allowed to erect these type
of structures, where does it end. If all the residents of the
Highlands took it upon themselves to alter their property even if it comes
at the expense of their neighbors and the neighborhood in general
then the Highlands would lose its unique and special beauty. One
individual's personal hobbies should not diminish the natural beauty
of our community. Please do what is necessary to restore
and preserve our unique landscape and to also maintain the
regulations of our community. Thank you for your time. Please feel
free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Bianca Kenner
